Software Review

(video encoding, transcoding, converting)
I've been using HandBrake for a while. It makes encoding home videos a less troubling experience than it can be, otherwise.

That said, I often turn to the more advanced FFMPEG or HandBrake CLI for batch encoding; I copy an hour of recorded video to my computer, separated into clips, and transcode it into a more space friendly format so my hard-drive space doesn't disappear overnight. I also like transcoding to both a full size and a small size version (one for archiving and one for easy sharing, with a slight hit to the quality). Doing much of this will be a pain without some type of automation. Let me know if you need help.

In addition, this is NOT video editing software. For that, try VideoSpin or Windows Movie Maker. [go to software page]
